This course includes a public course blog<\/a>. This blog lets students summarize what they are learning about hunger and homelessness in contemporary America and — ideally — engage in conversation with others about these topics.<\/p>\n

Each course participant is required to post at least one substantive, thoughtful post each week, of about 250-300 words.\u00a0<\/strong> It can be on any topic related to that week’s activities &\/or learning.\u00a0 These posts are\u00a0in addition<\/em> to the posts required as part of the Internship<\/a> and Teaching Project<\/a> reports. \u00a0Posts will be read and graded each Monday evening, so they must be completed before 5pm each Monday<\/strong> during the semester.<\/p>\n

Do NOT post about your organization on the Course Blog, unless you check with me first!<\/strong>\u00a0 This is for two reasons:<\/p>\n

  1. Your post is a public document.\u00a0 In our age, such documents have to be crafted very carefully to avoid being misconstrued or distorted and can cause harm.\u00a0<\/em><\/li>\n
  2. Your post could potentially harm people who have given you information by violating their privacy, threatening their job status, or threatening the aid organizations give them.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
